Water for Tista Village.
On Monday 6th of October 2014 we visited 23 children from poor families at Banjar Ancut, a poor area with clean water difficulties at Tista Village, Karangasem. Comments from Bali Caring Community "Most of the people in Banjar Ancut live on a dry hilly area, with main occupation is farming on rainfed rice field and raising cattle (cow or pig). In dry season they usually can’t farming; it’s impossible to grow plants on hard and dried hilly area, while in wet season they usually grow corn or cassava. In other word, in a year, there will only be one harvesting time. On 27th February 2015, work began on excavating a new well for the entire village to use.
On the 21st of April 2015 Jen Lupton and friend Julie were invited to turn on the tap for the very first time and join the village for the Blessing Ceremony. Without your wonderful donations this would not have been possible. The People of Tista Village, (Banjur Ancut) the team at Little Hands-Big Hearts-Bali and Bali Caring Community would like to thank everyone for their generosity. Water Filters for the Evacuations Camps
In December 2017 we started a Buy Me A Coffee Campaign to purchase water filters for the many evacuation camps set up due to the volcanic activity of Mt Agung. Our hope was help reduce the amount of rubbish at the camps which was mostly made up of plastic water bottles. Even though our Buy Me A Coffee campaign ran over this time we found many donors who just wanted to purchase a water filters. We raised enough money to purchase 7 small and 1 medium filter. These were purchased, labelled and then delivered by the wonderful team from Bali Caring Community. Sidhi Astu Tuka Orphanage
September 2017 saw us deliver donations to every child at Sidhu Astu Tuka Orpanage. We asked our Facebook Group members to choose one child and purchase a small gift for that child. The response was overwhelming and every child received a gift. We also received donations from an Indonesian textile company who donated 3 large boxes of new clothes. |
Playground for the children of Kumara Kerta Winangun Pre-school Desa Nawakerti.
On Monday 6th of October 2014 we also visited the families and children of Desa and Nawakerti. We were shown their little preschool. From this visit we surveyed the playground and organised the children's work tables to be repaired, to purchase new slip proof chairs, balls and a water filter for the classroom. We asked our friends at Bali Caring Community to organize this for us thanks to some very generous donations. After we returned home our team set about fundraising for a second project. A new playground for the children at the preschool.
This project took us a long time to fundraise for but on 6th of October 2016 we finally delivered the playground equipment as we had promised along with donations of school supplies, soft toys and games. In the time it took us to fund raise for the playground equipment the preschool had moved into a lovely new building so the timing was perfect. The joy on these children's faces was wonderful to see. Donations from our many supporters.
Without the help of so many people we would not be able to do the little things we do to help the most needy people of Bali. We gladly fill our suitcases time and time again to take your very generous donations to these families in need. |
